I've been running into a lot of 5-man teams in competitive, and it gives them a HUGE advantage against a bunch of pubbies.In addition, because this is the internet and GIFT rules the day, these teams tend to be VERY toxic, especially when they're riding the high of a win.Most other games have some sort of MM adjustment for teams. In some games, you're matched against higher elo players to compensate for the teamwork advantage.In others, like LoL, you are matched up against teams as well (when you duo-queue, there's a duo on the other team as well).Have the devs made any reasoning for this, to anyone's knowledge? I've been playing TF2 for a long time and something that has always irritated me when playing TF2 has been the lack of centerfire on most weapons. They're always sightly off to the right, putting you at a disadvantage when going around right turns, but an advantage around left. It's especially irritating as a demoman or soldier, as you can easily damage yourself in corner-fire cases. The Original doesn't have this problem, but that's kind of why I am of the opinion that it's better than stock in most cases.
It fires from the center, so you have an equal advantage on left corners as you do right corners.I don't know if it should be a sweeping change, but I would certainly like to see an option for 'center fire' when using weapons so you don't get this awkwardness with hitting walls when too close to them.Center Fire. I came across this issue where I can't install the game. It's not in my library, pressing the 'Play game' button on the game's store page doesn't do anything, I've also tried using the steam://run/9450 URL but nothing happens. Right after I kill Lucky with Whirlwind. Qui has me fight the four students at once. Every time I beat them, I should be congratulating by Qui and sent to fight Soldier.

I love the fact that Steam now takes the time to recommend games that I might like. Today it recommended Age of Survival which I decided to check out. Luckily since buying Spacebase DF-9 while in early access I'm much more leery of EA games. And sure enough it's not only rated 'mostly negative' but the first review is a warning that it's a complete fraud of a game, and the developers have been manipulating both the reviews and forums to hide the fact. Even with the new refund policy this is sorely needed. A person has to decided while a game is still alpha/beta within the same time frame as a finished game. So the refund does nothing to further the aims of the EA program. So please either start policing the games you offer or expand the refund to allow players a refund within a reasonable amount of time when a game leaves EA. As it now stands the EA program is still prone to abuse by shady people taking advantage of YOUR customers.

So I just played a competitive game and I couldn't speak with any of my teammates. The icon for the voicechat was displayed when I pressed the button, but noone elses icon ever showed up. At first I thought my mic wasn't working, but it was working fine when I tested it later in the settings. When the halves were over noone from the enemy team spoke either. Nobody was muted.
So my only idea is that the voicechat function is not working in the game for some reason. Is this possible?Is/can steam voice chat be down? It's a 20-shot spam cannon. It's often an upgrade, you guys. You don't need accuracy when you have big HP and an infinite clip so you can overpower other chumps and sentries up close.
It makes the soldier more effective as a pocket due to the huge increase in firepower. Soldier was already an excellent pocket, I have no idea why anyone saw fit to make this combo even more powerful.
Not even the heavy got this treatment, all his primary unlocks make him a worse pocket.The Beggar's already does huge burst damage around corners for near-instant kills. Does it really need to do more than that? The regular launcher is most efficient when you load up all 4 shots in between firing a volley. Why is the beggar's allowed to break this by being more efficient with less time investment?

It makes it completely contrary to the beggar's original idea of carefully picking the right moment to load and unleash, and instead makes the class even more mindless.Yes, it might be underpowered if all it had was just charging up and ambushing, but might I suggest an alternative buff? Make the beggar's heal you when you pick up ammo packs, like the Persian Persuader, except you keep the ammo you get too. It makes it more of a roamer ambush tool, less about the pocketing, and plays on the scavenger hobo theme. The more ammo boxes you scavenge from the battlefield, the better you do.Yes, it's overlapping with the black box's role somewhat, but since when did the black box need that nerf that it just got in the Gunmettle update in the first place? The weapon regenerates after 15 seconds.Gives the Heavy another support option, allowing for a burst of a teammate's sustainability by refilling their clip, or finishing off an enemy from a fair distance away.-Melee weapons-Base damage increased to 85.There's no real reason for the Heavy's melee weapons to be lackluster when you're already that close as a Heavy.

Hi, so I'm having this strange issue lately (last 2 days or so), where I start lagging while streaming CS:GO.My connection: 160Mbps download and 8 Mbps upload from Suddenlink in Texas.My OBS settings:CBR enabledMax Bitrate 3200 and Buffer Size 3200.Base resolution 1920 by 1080. Downscaled to 720, Filter Bilinear @ 60 FPS.And here are some information from my CS netgraph while playing (and lagging).The top var value: 2-5ms, ping: 80-400 ms but usually around 160-200.Loss: 0%, choke: 0% sv 5.5 +- 1.5ms bottom var value: 0.012 - 0.320 msNow here's the really strange part.
It only happens when my girlfriends starts netflix. It's really smooth, no issues, then she starts to watch netflix, and it goes to completely unplayable. If anything was bad about my connection, it would be the upload, but I wouldn't figure netflix actually use much if any upload? And 160 down shouldn't have any issues? This also weren't an issue before the last update of CS:GO.

However now when I launch the game I get a 'cannot find steam' error message and the game cannot run.

I've tested and confirmed this in a bot game and a community server. No such issues can be found when browsing my desktop, so I don't think my mouse is dying (Logitech G500, mousepad is a Steelseries Qck). I'll see if it also happens in other games later. Hello everyone.My PC is as follows: MSI P55-GD65 Intel Core i5-750 (about 5% over the factory clock) 8 GB DDR3 1333 (about 5% over the factory clock) Gigabyte GeForce GTX560 Ti (factory overclock + about 7-8% over that) Crucial m4 SSD + some HDDs Infrasonic Quartet (semi-professional sound card) Corsair HX520 PSU Windows 7 Pro x64 Ascot 6AR PC case (slightly above average, nothing fancy though)Pretty much all the hardware is 3-3.5 years old (including the 560 Ti). I'm using it for everything, including work and games, and generally it performs very well at the relevant tasks. I also tend to never turn it off as it doubles as a personal web-server/seedbox.So what happened is that this afternoon the PC suddenly rebooted without any prior sign of failure. When it booted back up, the display started showing shimmering horizontal lines (starting as early as the initial Windows logo screen during the boot-up).
Additionally, when it booted the OS the GPU driver was disabled with the error code 43 (general failure), so it ended up working in a legacy mode in 800×600. It didn't, however, reboot or otherwise show instabilities at any point after the initial accident.First thing I thought is that this sort of image corruption looked exactly as if you had overclocked the VRAM too much, so maybe what happened was that the VRAM modules overheated for some reason (the card wasn't under heavy load prior to the reboot, and it wasn't very hot inside the case), so I thought letting it cool off would do.
I turned the PC off and went away for several hours, but upon my return the problem persisted. The ambient temperature in my room is around 20°C, so it's quite cool actually.Then I thought it could be a software problem, and tried uninstalling and purging my old Forceware driver and DirectX. This didn't help either. I found my previous graphics card which luckily had the same power setup (with two extra internal power cords), and it worked just fine. This made it obvious that it was the 560 Ti that failed.Now that as much was established, I thought that maybe the (rather modest) overclock has, for one reason or another, pushed the VRAM into a malfunctioning state, and lowering its clock and/or tweaking voltage settings would be able to help.
Unfortunately, every over/underclock-related tool I know accesses the GPU via the driver, which, as I've said before, doesn't even load, so I can't access any of the GPU's settings. I figured that maybe reflashing BIOS could at least drop the clocks down to factory defaults, but it didn't help at all either.So the main question is, is there any way to salvage this card, even if it ends up underclocked? Also, are there any over/underclock tools that access the hardware at a lower level, circumventing the driver? What gives me hope is that if it doesn't show garbage during the BIOS sequence, then maybe not everything is lost.
However, that might be because the textmode output doesn't go through the VRAM at all (unfortunately, I'm not too familiar with that level of technical detail).I would be grateful for every constructive advice and/or expert opinion on the matter. I do eventually plan to upgrade my hardware, but I also had plans for this particular card, so if it's at all possible to save it, that's what I'm looking for in any case.Any option to salvage a presumably damaged graphics card? Just wondering, but has anyone else had the phenomena where if you charge at players sometimes you slide off the sides of their hit box? I've been experiencing this frequently where I miss charges I shouldn't have missed for no real reason other than bad hit-box detection. My guess is this might have to do with the player's bounding boxes being squares (therefore more room to 'bounce off') rather than cylinders.
Which means if you charge at people at certain angles you will have a greater chance of charging straight past them, seemingly inexplicably.' Sliding' off people while charging? Originally when they put in the Halloween/full moon restriction on various hats and cosmetics, it was because they said they wanted to prevent the game characters from being sullied with too many overly outlandish looking hats/etc.I think after several years of nothing BUT outlandish hats/cosmetics (most of which are NOT holiday restricted), that the original 'reason' for the halloween restriction is now defunct.Am I suggesting it be done away with? Keep it in place. But change the 'eternaween' tool. No one really uses it as-is, because it's not really 'eternal', it's temporary. Make it so that it can be applied to one halloween/full moon cosmetic, to permanently remove it's restriction and make it so you can use that item on any server at any time.
You can jack up the price for eternaween to maybe $9.99 US to keep everyone from going crazy nutso with it and make it more exclusive that way.Yes we're all well aware that there are servers which have the restriction eternally removed for everyone - but that's not really the point. Some people want to be able to have that item visible on any serve without having to root through the server details and find out of it would work or not.Anyone who is worried that being able to remove the halloween restriction from items by using eternaween as a one-shot permanent tool, fear not. Someone needs to do something about all of these people that 'throw' games. I have played 3 games in the past 3 days and 2 of them have had people trying to throw them.
The first of the two was not that bad, thry just said they were going to throw and simply didnt play well, shooting team mates and playing bad, which was not as bad as the second game. The second game i had 2 team mates that would sit in middle with the rest of the enemy team and when me or any of the other team mates tried to kill them, the 2 'throwers' would walk into our pullets and try to get us kicked for team killing. I almost got kicked until I essentially stopped trying to kill them because my two team mates would follow the enemies around, let the enemy kill me, and block my bullets.Something needs to be done because this is happening far too often.(if there are any spelling/grammar errors I appologize)Throwing Games. Hello, when I play CS:GO competitive, I get an error saying there is something blocking VAC system or something like that and kicks me from the game and sometimes I get cooldown. I can't join a game for the next few hours. It says I can't play on secure servers, but after a few hours, I can join a game but a few rounds later, I get kicked again when my friedns checked my profile it doesn't say I am VAC banned but it kicks me from%80 of the games because of VAC.

Not really sure if this goes here but anyways, I just read an article on PC Gamer showing how to make a dedicated server for games. I've tried making a server on my gaming PC for Garry's Mod but it never works for some reason, no matter how much I research the problem I cannot find a solution. Anyways, I don't have an old computer to make the server on so I have a question.Is it possible to setup a dedicated server on my MacBook while my gaming PC is running Windows 10? Or do they need to be the same OS?

When RS came along I saw the opportunity to get involved at the start of something new and a quickly emerging Blender exporter gave me the foot up I needed as I'd already played around with Blender a few years before.I made some scenery bits and then attempted to build an entire working cab model for Kev's Prairie despite having no source files to work with. Only thick headed ignorance got me to the end of that project!
After that I made some GWR wagon packs, the first working level crossings (with the help of AndiS in scripting them) and various other scenery items and then my first loco - a rather vague attempt at a Bulleid Q1 - all of which are now hosted by Darren at DP Simulation.I then built the first semi-'realistic' steam loco for Railworks, the 56xx. A hobby project that ended up as 2 years of blood, sweat and tears and required a 6 month break from anything to do with train sim'ing after I'd finished it.I dabbled a little after that, starting a GWR Steam Railmotor model but mostly helping out other people behind the scenes with scripting. Then my family increased and I had to accept that I had no more spare time to devote to it.September 2013 and I found myself with the opportunity to try TS production as a full time job, so I was able to refresh the 56xx and bring it back in-line with the new standards for RSC, and the GWR Railmotor was completed and released in early 2014. The complete rebuild of Bulleid Q1 including a completely custom motion/wheel slip script component will be next from my stable and then I need to lock down the next project to dedicate time to.Looking forward to brain storming with you guys, a lot of whom I know from UKTS and have worked with already, to see how much further we can push this 'game'. I have produced several trailers for SSS - thanks for the invite Matt - and am currently a beta tester for them and for Digital Traction. I'm the guy behind the Road & Rail Sound Enhancement Pack (which will be getting a big update soon to cater for a lot of new routes).Pointless fact: I'm still working on my first real TS modelling project, and have been since July 2012 or thereabouts, having restarted it about 4 or 5 times and even on the current one have remade most parts at least once since the beginning. There's no pleasing some people, is there? Especially me.I run a YouTube channel, Problem Productions, where I mainly produce TS related content involving playthroughs and reviews etc. I'm also an admin of Rail-Sim Users Group on Facebook, and am Co-Head of TS2014 'Multiplayer' in there, the creator of that little 'scheme' - we've been going since Valentine's Day last year (shows you how interesting my love life was at the time!) and am also President of the Run8 multiplayer railroad company there as well. Thanks to Chris (one of them, you all lost track, too, didn't you) for inviting me and Jim for running this.I never finished anything but I am great at telling people what to do and how to do better than they did. Interestingly, some of them still like me which I put down to the fact that I specialise in signalling and only masochists venture there.My payware involvement was minimal, but I undertook about half a dozen attempts at realistic signalling scripts for several countries. Unfortunately, frustration won over every time. However, I had so much support from so many people that I refuse to give in on the last one, which is UK semaphores. AI treats every signal as UK semaphore anyway (rule 39 at every signal), so there is little point in raving over others. But for these, I already developed far too many ideas how to sync their movements with the inevitable course of the train movements, so I still hope to find the energy to conclude that.Over the years, it simply turned out that this game (under all its names) is not exactly what I hoped it would become, and that it is successful as is, which renders hoping for changes (or petitioning for them) pointless.
At the same time, I am not too excited about the Trainz makeover, neither for OR, so RW might be called my favourite train game, if I would run it. My focus would be on precise modelling of prototype operations, so I just stick with my books.Recently photography became a prominent hobby of mine, and the upcoming Zusi3 (.) keeps me quivering on the fence. I also found that 3D modelling (buildings mostly) is as soothing for the soul as writing scripts to cover up the poor game design burns it. However, there too, I turned theoretical, nearly (but not fully) succeeding in translating an algorithm to align a 3D model to a photo, so you can take exact measures from it. I also created route markers from Open Street Map data, which became pointless when RW got built-in Google overlays. And I made Blender's built-in procedural shaders do brick bonds that no one else ever considered relevant. To use them in game, would would still have to texture-burn them and unwrap, unless you wait for the Unreal engine - should that be compatible with Blender.So let's see what sort of fun we are going to have here.
I never had issues at UKTS but I did notice some shift from persons interested in technical (simulation) details to people interested in comparing graphics card. I put it down to the development path of the product and the learning curve of those who - back in 2007 - hoped that KRS would be the answer, like I did.So cheers to all, looking forward to some nice exchange with the persevering!(.) For those who never heard about Zusi3: Combine professional-level attention to simulation detail, initial focus on German prototype, 2D cabs with many cab views and Rail Simulator graphics without free flying and most likely no particles.

Matt from SSS has dropped me a invite for here which I am grateful for as I do enjoy a good discussion and while I may not be that technical minded when it comes to putting together addons I can atleast throw together ideas and do testing for various things.On that note I have been working with Matt at SSS and prior to the bussiness opening from the early days of just before the Great Central Railway route was created and finished up. I'd made a decision back then when he started releasing his sound packs that I would try to encourage whereever possible as I had this odd feeling back then it wasn't going to just be a one off thing A few packs later on and GCR nearing its 1.0 version Matt dropped me a PM to help out testing. Basically from there onwards I had been pretty much offered test builds and when SSS idea was floating I was asked if I wanted to help further.
My answer ofcourse was yes, who wouldn't want to test new steam loco sounds and be apart of a new focus on steam locos?I have to thank Matt and the various other 3rd party developers who started pushing for more steam railway content, I was hitting a burnout period for TS20XX and being apart of the new steam scene has certainly infused new life into my 'Want' to actually use the simulator more than I had in the past few years.I'm glad we have these forums available as I do believe UKTS has become somewhat isolated over the years and now is quite touchy feely about things. I work in an old run down engineering factory and this has made me very familiar with what old distressed steel looks like.Recently, last August to be exact, I was encouraged to learn how to produce my own models in 3D Crafter by my good friend Chris Baker.Although I haven't provided much in the way of models to the community yet, I have done some work for Matt's SSS. If there is one question we are asked more than any other, it is this: 'How is the KWVR coming along?' We haven't posted any new screenshots for quite a long time. For a while, the question of how the route is progressing has been a difficult question to answer. Because for a few months we were stuck. Stuck by an problem none in our team of Steam Sounds Supreme, Vulcan Productions and Skyhook Games had a solution to - getting signals & level crossings to work!
We were in danger of the project stalling completely. What would we do.A few months ago, Mark from Vulcan Productions, told me he had a positive discussion with a well known signal and script creater. Step forward Mark Brinton!! We were delighted to welcome Mark into the team.
And it's given the project the injection it needed in order to move it towards completion. All the signal are now working! And baring one or two fixes, the level crossings work too. As you will see in the following screenshots, things in the route are looking really good now. The Hunslet Fitzwilliam was a batch of identical engines built for work at collieries and quarries. Preserved examples include Ring Haw, Kingsley. and Newstead.
Ring Haw is in traffic and operational at the North Norfolk Railway at the time of writing, and is a very popular locomotive.It was discovered that Kingsley had aquired the tanks of Fitzwilliam at some point. Of course, that was all there was at the time.
I hadn’t heardof Trainz. However, as new locomotives and routes began to appear forMSTS, I started to wonder how thesteam locomotive sounds were put together.
I started to dig a littledeeper, in an effort to understand how I could make what I heardbetter. But, the MSTS audio engine was extremely limited in both thequality of sound it would support and the way sounds were played. So, itwas not a particularly satisfying experience.
When Rail Simulator cameout in 2007, I bought it straight away. The sounds were much better.Locomotive exhausts were set as individual triggered sounds, instead ofthe MSTS method of using loops. So, it was certainly a huge stepforward. But soon I became dissatisfied with the default sounds suppliedwith the Black 5 and SDJR 7F. And from there, the early moves towardsetting up Steam Sounds Supreme occurred.”. A: 'I am not currently a memberof any society connected with heritage railways or engineering. In thepast I was a member of the Isle of Wight Model Engineers Society for aperiod of 1 year, but that was a temporary thing.
We had a brief forayinto 5’’ gauge steam, and we needed somewhere to run the locomotive wehad. We no longer own the locomotive, as it was unreliable. Sometimes you setyourself up behind the locomotive(usually the front window behind theloco on a heritage railway), eagerly anticipating capturing the sounds Ineed, but on the occasion you visit, the driver does not provide thesounds you want – I.E. Lack of whistling, doesn’t work the engineparticularly hard, or there are other sounds from the loco preventinggetting a clean exhaust sounds, like a leaking cylinder, a loud ejectoror often blowing off steam. These things can make for a poor recording.That is the experience we have had with the Fitzwilliam Hunslet loco.Getting clean exhaust sounds has proven to be very difficult. A: “To record the sounds, I use an Olympus LS-100 digital recorder, with an Audio-Technicashotgun microphone. This gives great results!Editing the sounds is done using Goldwave audio editor, Nero Wave Editorand a free program called Wavosaur.
All these programs offer differentvital tools which help me to create the sounds I do. Goldwave offers the abilityto add Cue Points.
These are vital when making exhaust sounds. NeroWave Editor features a tool called Time Correction. This speeds up alooped sound without raising the pitch. An important thing when creating exhaust loops – used for high speedexhaust sounds. Wavosaur is unique among the three, in that it is theonly one that support Loop Points. Adding a loop point to a sound sampleis perfect when you need to create a looped sound but also want abeginning and end to the sound.
Perfect for making whistle loops.”. A: “I think it would have tobe connected with what I feel are the best locomotive sounds I have evercreated. I agreed that I would supply the sounds. I had a great timerecording for this project, as I think the USATC S160’s are one of themost awe-inspiring steam locomotive types in the UK. Most of that awe isfelt when that 5-note chime whistle is blown. It was important to makesure all aspects of the sounds were as good as possible, but the mostimportant part had to be getting that 5-note chime whistle in-game,sounding as good as in real life. The kind of sound that gives you goosepimples! I managed to sort out some sounds I liked for the whistlesounds.
One for a more distantsound, and one for when the loco is directly next to the cameraposition. In my communications with Peter(of Victory Works) I was tryingto explain how I wanted to be able to position myself lineside, butstill have access to a handle, so you could blow this amazing whistle ina dynamic way. What do I mean by ‘dynamic’?
I had introduced a dynamicwhistle to some releases a few months earlier. Basically, a dynamicwhistle control enables you to play with the whistle sound by graduallyincreasing the volume and pitch as you press down the whistle lever.This gives an awesome effect, when I find a suitable whistle sample.Peter delivered! He created a control where you could change the brakehandle on the HUD,into a whistle control, providing a way of playingthis dynamic whistle from the lineside. The moment I tested this out forthe first time, yes, that was the best experience I have had in TS to-date!'
A: “No, I have neverenjoyed the privilege of working alongside such experienced individuals.I know that some of the guys I do sound work for – Victory Works,Digital Traction – consult experts where possible. Pieces of informationhave come my way which have had a positive influence on making soundsbetter, and reflect more closely real-life experiences with a particularlocomotive type.” Q: Do you use any other resources to create your sounds? A: “The only other resourcethat comes to mind is the built-in tools that come with Train Simulator –the Blueprint Editor. This piece of software is where all theparameters are set, for when each sound sample is used in the gamesituation. A: “This is a tricky questionbecause really, you must be passionate about steam in real life first, Iwould say.
However, Train Simulator can disappoint at times, if youlove real steam, because some pieces of steam loco DLC have sounds whichare not up to scratch. So, if you have been disappointed by the soundsof steam locos in Train Simulator in the past, we’re here to make up forthat, as our sounds are a huge step towards immersing yourself in abelievable world. Many of you have been waiting patiently for the Bulleid Light Pacific 'Working Days' Pack. The pack has been on PRE-ORDER for many months. When the pack went onto pre-order, it was no more than a month away from completion. All that was left to do was to complete the set of steam-era headboards, produce some scenarios, and test. Unfortunately, the chap who is producing the headboards has been through a serious health scare, meaning that production of the headboards was put to one side, naturally. We were left with a problem. Thankfully, production of the headboards is back on, and our friend is well again.
Another pre-order product we have had problems with is the 's Hunslet Fitzwilliam Loco Pack. Again, this pack went on pre-order back in October 2017, as it was so near completion. Sound work was going to be a simple process, and there was one scripting issue to resolve. Unfortunately, as can happen with these things, the scripting issue was more complex than first thought. The issue has now been resolved. We await the fix from RE&LCW.
As for the sounds, this has again proved to be a far more tricky loco to record and source sounds for than we could have anticipated. Our recordings were not giving us all the sounds we needed.
So we have been asking around. Some kind and generous people have shared sounds of this loco type. But still we are finding the sounds to not be suitable. We will keep working on it.
We again apologise for the delay these things have caused, and we thank you for being patient with us! How about the route itself?Progress has been slow recently. There are many factors which have slowed things down. Firstly, we hit a development obstacle, as we do not have the necessary experience to complete the scripted aspects of the scenery assets.
Here I am referring to the level crossings at Oakworth and Damems, as well as all the signals in the route. We are looking to recruit someone who can assist us with this.The other reason for the delay is time.
Time needed by members of the team for other commitments. But the route is looking good still. This is a first wagon pack for Steam Sounds Supreme by well-known developer Malcolm Mackay. The product he has created is the BR Shocvan Wagon Pack. The northern end of the route is at the now closed station of Cropredy, acouple of miles beyond Banbury. The southern end, via Oxford, is atRadley a few miles south of the city. There are extensive yards, private sidings and junctions immediately both north of Banbury and south of Oxford stations.
The Oxford line has two QD options: 'Passenger' takes the main linewhile 'Goods' uses goods loops and the avoiding line around Banburystation. The distance is 31 miles. Options for the 44 mile route via Bicester to High Wycombe are'Stopping' which takes the platform line at 4 track stations and'Through'.Banbury Yard early morning start.
